Sniff, Slurp, Spit, Repeat: Cupping Events at the Specialty Coffee Expo
Coffee is the name of the game at the upcoming Specialty Coffee Expo, taking place this week in Seattle. While roasters and popup bars will bring their best stuff for people to sip and savor, coffee buyers will be seeking out some great coffees to eventually serve to their customers, too.
Though we unfortunately don’t have the digital real estate to promote every cupping event in and around this year’s Expo, we present here a select list of public cuppings, representing a wide variety of sellers, origins and growing regions. All cupping events listed below are hosted at the Washington State Convention Center, 705 Pike Street, unless noted otherwise, and will require a trade show badge to attend.
Cupping with Genuine Origin at Street Bean
On Thursday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at Street Bean Coffee Roasters, 5015 Roosevelt Way Northeast, taste the freshest Genuine Origin coffees at a public cupping with Jen Hurd. Genuine Origin will be at booth #2625 during the show.

Fulcrum Coffee will host 3 cupping sessions with ICAFE, NAMA, and ACE between Thursday, April 19, and Saturday, April 21, at 4660 Ohio Ave S. Explore new coffee varieties from different origins and learn from panel discussions.

Sustainable Harvest La Lucha Auction Cuppings
Cuppings for each auction coffee plus silent bidding will be held on Friday, April 20 (12 p.m.), and Saturday, April 21 (3 p.m.), in Room 201. Ninety percent of the auction revenue will go to the producers, while 10 percent covers operational costs.
