Probat Popup Roastery Coming to Berlin During WOC
German roaster manufacturing giant Probat is putting together a popup roastery in conjunction with the upcoming SCA World of Coffee event in Berlin, Germany, from June 5-7.
Taking place in Berlin Mitte in the Secret Garden Berlin — an historic former theater building that fell into disrepair for 80 years before an ambitious event space renovation project — the Probat popup roastery will include a number of informational and hands-on roasting sessions beginning each afternoon during the show.
Thursday’s schedule includes a “BH Coaching” session from Australian competitive barista and Barista Hustle Founder Matt Perger. Friday will include sessions led by Ralf Rüller of renowned Berlin roastery The Barn, and by Willy Andraschko of the pioneering Berlin roastery Andraschko Kaffeemanufaktur. Saturday’s sessions will include a panel moderated by Standart Magazine‘s Michal Molcan, and a presentation from Cropster‘s Andy Benedikter.
Each day will include a session on “Maintaining Your Roaster Right” by Probat’s Jörg Vogel, as well as “Deep Dive Roasting Insights from Probat’s Daniela Nowitzki. Each of the evenings will end with two hours of “Roasting to the Music” with hands-on roasting sessions and an “easy listening DJ set,” according to Probat.
Visit the Probat Popup Roastery website for the complete schedule. Secret Garden Berlin is located at Gartenstraße 6, 10115 Berlin.
